Our Mission
FWIM (Future Women In Medicine) helps girls ages 8–12 discover the wonder of medicine, biology, and chemistry, for free, in a community where every question is welcome and every girl belongs.
A note from our founder
Hi! I'm Ruhika, a teenage girl from Texas, and medicine is my favorite subject in the world. I love learning how the human body works, how doctors figure out what's wrong, and how science can help people heal and feel better.
But I've noticed that a lot of girls stop believing science is "for them" long before they ever get the chance to fall in love with it. I started FWIM in 2026 to change that. I want younger girls to see someone just a few years older than them who is excited about science, and to know that they can be curious, ask big questions, and dream about becoming doctors, nurses, researchers, and chemists too.
Every session is free, because a passion for science should never depend on what a family can afford. If even one girl leaves an FWIM session thinking "I could do this," then we're doing exactly what we set out to do.

What we believe
Curiosity comes first
Every big discovery starts with a simple question. We make science hands-on, playful, and full of "why?"
Confidence is learned
When girls see other girls doing science, they start to picture themselves there too. That's why FWIM is led by girls, for girls.
Science is for everyone
No cost, no experience needed, and no question too small. Every girl is welcome, wherever she's starting from.
Where we're headed
FWIM is just getting started. Here are our goals for the years ahead:
- Teach more girls
Grow from our first sessions into a regular schedule of medicine, biology, and chemistry classes for girls everywhere. - Build a team of teen mentors
Train volunteer teachers who love science and want to pass that love on to the next generation. Every volunteer earns a volunteer hours certificate. - Open doors to medicine
Help girls meet women working in medicine and science, so they can see what their future could look like. - Share free resources
Keep adding videos, activities, and practice materials that girls can use any time, even without wifi. - Reach every community
Make sure girls everywhere, no matter where they live, have the chance to fall in love with science.
